A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place

Furry Christmas

This weekend we took a girls road trip (myself, my mom, and my daughter) to Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA for their A Very Furry Christmas celebration! It was a bit of a drive for us (5 hours) but I knew that my Elmo loving daughter would have an incredible time. And I was really in the need of some Holiday cheer!

We arrived a bit before the gates opened but that gave us plenty of time to bundle up and check out the walk of fame.

I loved how the park was decorated for Christmas! Even Oscar got in on the festivities….granted, he wasn’t all that happy about it.

Our first stop was the gift shop, because I had forgotten a hat. Fortunately, Sesame Place has thought of us forgetful folks and had quite a selection of hats and gloves!

We then headed over to the Sesame Place Furry Express! As soon as Avery saw the “Choo Choo” she went wild! She made sure that Elmo was comfy, and we all enjoyed our tour through the Twiddlebugs’ Gingerbread Cookie Factory!

After our choo-choo ride we headed over to visit with Elmo at Elmo’s World Live! Happy Holidays Show! Elmo and his friends taught us about Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanza, as he tried to choose the perfect gift for his Goldfish Dorothy!

At A Very Furry Christmas, guests can enjoy the park’s mechanical rides, a larger-than-life Christmas tree and light show, a nightly parade set to festive music and one-of-a-kind fun-filled shopping in the park’s gift shops. There will be three Christmas shows, as well as an opportunity to share a holiday-themed meal with Elmo & friends and a visit with Santa Claus during special character dining experiences that are sure to please everyone in the family.

After walking around the park and checking out all the fun Christmas inspired activities, we got to enjoy a fun “feast” of cookies, cupcakes and hot cocoa with Elmo and his pals! Avery got to meet Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert & Ernie, Zoe and more! She was a bit shy, but enjoyed feeding her mini-Elmo chocolate chip cookies! It was nice to take a little break, and warm up!

After finishing our delicious treats, we were off to visit with Santa at his Furry Workshop….unfortunately, my daughter had other plans, and fell asleep in my moms arms the moment we got inside.

I was so sad to miss the Neighborhood Street Party parade, 1-2-3 Christmas Tree show and of course all the beautiful lights on Sesame Street, but happy that we got to see and do as much as we did with a very sleepy toddler!

Our family had such a wonderful time at A Very Furry Christmas. It can be difficult to find activities for the toddler age group, but this event really hit the mark! It’s a truly family friendly event that even mom & dad can enjoy! We are planning to go back next year!

If all the rides, special shows and event, and dining experiences aren’t enough to entice you to visit, Sesame Place will be host to a few special events this holiday season! Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th, guests can see CHOO-CHOO SOUL perform their rendition of holiday favorites.

And to ring in the the new year, you can celebrate New Year’s Eve with Sesame Street characters on December 31st with a fireworks show!

General admission tickets for A Very Furry Christmas are $24.99 and include a free second day throughout the event. 2014 Season Pass Members can enjoy unlimited admittance to A Very Furry Christmas.

  1. I grew up close to Sesame Place and totally only thought of it as a summer destination. Thank you for showing me it’s more than that, Sarah!!!
