So St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th. It happens to be my original due date for my second son Gabe. Well since I made Bacon Hearts for Valentine’s Day I thought I would see if I could make bacon Shamrocks. I think they turned out ubber cute. I only stuck them in this carrot cupcake to show you that they do stand up, although they are fragile.
Here is the recipe below. I have to tell you I used turkey bacon so I don’t know how it would work with regular bacon.
Bacon St. Patty’s Day Shamrocks
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Mean while, using a small heart cookie cutter cut out hearts from the bacon. Build the shamrocks as shown below on an cookie sheet.
Once you have made the shamrock, place the pan in the oven for about 12-15 minutes.
Here is what they look like right out of the oven. Now as much as I know you want to pick them up DO NOT PICK THEM UP!! You have to let them cool completely, about 20-30 minutes. They will be firm but fragile so be careful when moving them around. So there ya have it..St. Patrick’s Day Bacon Shamrocks! Enjoy! And if you make them with regular bacon come back and let me know how they turn out! 🙂
