Healthy, glowing skin is vital for a perfect look. But it doesn’t happen by magic, unless you’re very lucky. It usually needs a proper skincare routine and using the right products for your skin type. This doesn’t have to involve a lot of effort – follow our simple, tried and tested tips to cleanse, moisturize, soothe and protect your way to beautiful, radiant skin.

1. Cleanse and tone

Never neglect to cleanse your skin. Removing makeup at night is especially important, as leaving it on your skin can block the pores and lead to dull skin or, conversely, acne and blemishes. Cleansing is also important to remove the dirt, sweat and oil that can become stuck in the skin’s pores. Simply wash your face with a mild cleanser both in the morning and evening. Gently tone after cleansing to refresh and tighten the skin.

2. Gently exfoliate

Gentle exfoliation is essential to obtain smooth, glowing skin. It removes the dead outer layer of skin and reveals the beautiful new skin underneath. Take care not to overdo it, or you can irritate the skin.

3. Use the right product for moisturizing

Proper moisturizing is one of the best things you can do to obtain glowing, radiant skin. A good facial oil is perfect to revitalize and hydrate the delicate skin on your face and it is able to provide a deeper level of nourishment than water-based products, supporting your skin to maintain its natural barrier preventing moisture loss. If you have very oily skin, you could use a product with a lower oil content to support your skin type. Moisturizers are great for combination skin, too, helping to even out the areas of oiliness and dryness. Apply moisturizers after cleansing, before the skin has dried completely.

4. Protect from the elements

Protecting your skin is critical, whether it is against the sun’s rays or harsh winds. Don’t forget to bundle up with hats and gloves when it’s cold. Wearing sunscreen every day helps to prevent premature skin ageing. Facial and body oils can be used to heal and regenerate the skin to ensure it remains soft and supple. They can be used under makeup on the face.

5. Soothe and support

Skin that has been exposed to the sun, wind or dry air can become dried out and suffer from redness and soreness. Some people have naturally dry or sensitive skin and they should take extra care when out and about in the sun or during winter months. Use facial and body oils to soothe skin that has suffered from the elements and give naturally dry and sensitive skin extra support. Your skin will be back to its natural radiance in no time!

  1. I don’t actually do much for my skin. I just wash with regular soap in the shower and apply an organic moisturizer to problem areas. I do wonder now that I am in my 40s if i will need to do more.
