Welcome to Making it All Work, a blog dedicated to helping you calm the chaos and create joy in your life. This is a little introduction to what this website is all about.
Teresa: (August 13, 2011)
Well here it goes. I have started this blog to share what it is like to be a real working mom and wife. I don’t have a perfect husband or perfect kids or even a perfect job But the truth is nobody does. My life is full of ups and downs. I try my darnedest to save money where I can, create memories with my kids, keep the house clean, not take my husband for granted, do my job to the best of my ability, pay the bills and some how, although I am perplexed sometimes how it happens, I manage to be … Making It All Work!!

I’m excited to share with you that I am new owner of Making it All Work. Teresa sold MIAW to a fellow blogger and friend of mine, Sheila Thomas. Soon after, though it was soon realized she had too much happening getting her travel blog, That Traveling Chick, going. I quickly offered to take it over because I had been spent the past year wanting a new blog where I could write about my experiences as a wife and mom.
You see just as Teresa spoke about imperfection, my life hasn’t been all fabulous, either. I’ve experience struggles from childhood until today. I am definitely far from being the perfect wife, parent, or homemaker. I lean on God for strength often and do what I can to get through the busyness of daily tasks and all that comes with living. But, even with all the trials, we have come out on the other end stronger and more resilient.
No perfect plan
You see the trick to making it all work isn’t about creating a perfect plan about each aspect of life. It’s much more personal. It’s about finding what your priorities are, about learning to focus on those first. And then, building your day around those. Important stuff like your relationship with God, taking care of yourself, and nurturing your marriage.
It’s about making deliberate choices in how you want to live. Instead of letting each stressful event pull you down and make you weary, you can learn to focus on the good things. And when the bad stuff is getting in the way, lean on God and one another more.
It’s also about creating balance. If you focus just on what drives you crazy about your kids, you won’t see all the fabulous parts of their personality and gifts. Or if you find yourself binging television because you want to zone out about the house being a mess, then your house will just keeping being a mess. It doesn’t mean you need to cut out that thing you over do to cope with stress. It just means you need to make the conscious choice to cut it back and use that new free time to tackle some of the stuff stressing you out.
Sometimes it’s little changes that make a big difference. Little changes are the key to making it all work! It’s my prayer that the content I share is helpful to you.
